are my shoes okay?!

So yesterday as I was finishing up lunchtime at school i got a text from Devin telling me that apparently there was some sort of leak and that our closet floor had flooded and was now covered in water!! Of course I was totally freaking out.... my thoughts 1. Are my Shoes Okay!!?? and 2. Did I leave any clothes on the closet floor?? Thankfully I didnt leave any clothes on the floor that morning, and since my shoes were on shelfs they were just fine. Sad to say, some of dev's shoes didnt make it out with the same fate. Some of his favorite shoes from Argentina, Which of course happen to be leather, got soaked and now have random water spots on them... we are both kinda bummed about that! Apparently, our hot water heater kind of exploded and flooded not only our apartment but our neighbors as well. I guess it was way old, like from 1992, and the pressure just built up and it exploded. We actaully had a repair man here a few weeks ago to look at it because we didnt have any hot water at all for a few days, and I guess he turned it up too high or something. Anyhow, they had to peel back our carpet and take out the padding and bring in a huge fan to try and dry it out and to prevent mold. And of course, that just happen to be the same day we had a couple comming to look at it to possibly rent... Oy Vey!
