My Skinny Six Month Old

Krew is SIX whole months can you even believe it? He thinks he's already a little boy and loves the idea of using a sippy cup instead of his bottle. He hates to be held like a baby and wants to crawl so very badly. He scoots and rolls everywhere and is on the move all over the place. It's surprising how quickly that baby can move from one end of a room to the other. It's fun to see him understand new things and laugh and smile for people... he's such a cheeser and crowd pleaser these days. Krew has always been pretty little but at his doctor's appointment last week we found out that sadly this little tot fell into the 0% for weight. {The doctor was very nice about it, and even told me that two of his own children fell into the same category, but it still felt like a giant arrow with the words "bad mom" was thrown straight at my heart.} The doctor said that his head size, length and development were all great so he wasn't super concerned but that he wanted to do a few tests just to make sure all is well. Krew had 7 baby viles of blood drawn, a urine sample, and 3 shots {he was such a trooper} and he only shed a few tears, and surprisingly this mama didn't shed any! The nurses were so sweet with Krew and even sang him Twinkle Twinkle Little Star while they were drawing his blood so that he wouldn't cry. What a difference it makes to have doctors and nurses who truly care about their patients, I'm seriously so grateful! As of now Krew is just on a special diet {fat diet}. Peanut butter, avocado, mashed potatoes with butter, Greek yogurt, canola oil with his veggies, and extra formula. I just love my adorable little baby but hopefully we can get him to fatten up in the next month or two!
Weight: 12lbs 9oz
Length: 26.5 inches

Diana, I'm so sorry that Krew had to go through all of those tests!!

Dallas is only in the 25th percentile. At one appointment I really embarrassed myself because he went from the 79% in height to the 18th in 3 days. I told them that the nurse aid must have measured him wrong because he definitely in the 78 percentile. I could NOT believe how defensive I was. Unfortunately, Mike was there so he now teases me about it. Its not like they were saying I had bad milk or didn't feed my baby!!! I almost called and aplologized but I figured they probably get a lot of concerned/ defensive moms!!

Good luck!!

P.S. I'm a little concerned about what they are giving Krew to gain weight. Those are all of my favorite foods!! Maybe I should stop eating them!
