I decided I wanted to try and make some homemade applesauce since apples are so yummy and cheap right now. I figured if it was easy enough I could change the recipe a little and make strawberry, blueberry, or peach applesauce for my little one next year. Luckily it was super easy and can be stored in the freezer for months. I used 3 pounds of gala apples peeled, cored, and sliced. Added just enough water to barely cover the apples. Added a litttle cinnamon and 1/4 cup brown sugar, simmered for about 30min. Then I used a potatoe masher and mashed it up to my desired thickness... [With the little one you could simply omit the sugar and then puree the mixture].
