The bishops wife in our ward thought it would be a good idea to teach all of us ladies how to make an amazing pie crust to make pumpkin and apple pies with this fall. So yesterday i went to the bishops house and learned how to make one amazingly easy dutch apple pie.
You're so flakey. pie crust.
3Cups Flower
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1Cup & 2 TBsp. Crisco... (sorry not generic brand)
Mix with pastery blender in a large bowl till all flower is mixed in (Should look crumbly). Add 7 TBsp. COLD water. Use a fork to mix in all the water and form a ball with the dough. Place the dough in a large ZipLock bag and make sure the bag is ziped tight. Wrap the ziplocked bag with a dish towel, and then holding onto dishtowel/ziplock bag tightly in one hand, hit the dough against the counter a few times (i know it sound weird but it compresses the dough into a tight ball without melting the crisco from the heat of your hands). Then remove the dough and seperate into either 2 or 3 balls. Roll out the balls of dough and voila... 2-3 perfectly flakey pie crusts. Bake at 425 for 15min.
Bon Appetit!
