Devin and Jeff love herping... that is... catching snakes and lizards. So they were not about to let the fact this it's Winter stop them in their herping endevours! When we were down in California they went out on multiple days and actually found quite an assortment of Herps! It was actually really warm when we were there... like in the upper 70's most of the time... which makes for great herping weather. They caught: Salamaders, a Red Diamond Rattlesnake, a Roasy Boa, a Lyre Snake, Western Skinks, and a couple different species of Lizards! ... Despite the fact that I hate snakes, the guys brought home all three snakes that they caught... even the Rattle snake! They put the Rattlesnake in a cage in the garage and every time we would come home the thing would puff up and hiss at us, and rattle its tail, it was so mean! Dev said it was one of the meanest he had every caught!

I read about their little adventure on Jeff's blog. You are a great wife to support this hobby! :) I can't believe they caught a rattle snake! They are crazy!! Your adventure on the beach looks like it would have been fun.
